Plug-In Review 1

WP Super Cache

What does it do? Very fast caching plugin for WordPress.
Details: This plugin generates static html files from your dynamic WordPress blog. After a html file is generated your webserver will serve that file instead of processing the comparatively heavier and more expensive WordPress PHP scripts.
Positive Reviews: “super” Best chace plug-in
“ Very powerful” I have tested more than 10 caching plugins and although many of them work almost the same, but simplicity and power of WP super cache especially when advanced mode is enabled, makes this plugin a very good choice for many webmasters specially if you don’t want to purchase a paid plugin.

Negative Reviews: “Bad for Google SEO” I have installed wp super cache a long time. Then, I have ran pagespeed insight only to discover that wp super cache was responsible for the CLS downtime of my website. I replaced it with wordpress fastest cache. So, Let me tell you how to replicate the problem: I installed the wordpress theme astra. Then, I installed wp super cache, and i have set it up to Expert mode. late init. Then, I loaded the page from pagespeed insight. First I had a good score, and then, during the second load the score was bad. I understood the pagespeed insight score was bad when the page was cached. Anyways, the robot exclusion of wp super cache is useless, since google visits your website via a normal User agent.
Could it explain traffic drop as well? Does it generate some sort of cloaking?
“Updated plug-in, and broke my website”
updated to the latest version of the plugin from wp-admin. Completely broke the website’s SSL settings somehow. It was bad enough that disabling the plugin didn’t work.
had to deactivate cloudflare and roll the website back to a previous version to get it ot even come back online. Since all I did was update an already functional plugin, I have no idea what caused the issue.
I didn’t notice any particularly wonderful effects from the plugin itself anyway, so it’s uninstalled. I don’t recommend this.

I thought this theme has potential after looking at the example photo, but after seeing it as my theme and exploring it, I did not like it. It seemed very boring and not good to display information for a portfolio. It might work once I add more to my website but I believe there are better themes to choose from. This theme also does not have many downloads.
